1. Raw materials The raw materials for producing buttons are mainly unsaturated polyester resins, curing agents and auxiliary materials.
1) Unsaturated polyester resin The resin used in the production of buttons requires a viscosity of 10 - 20 pa.s, low heat release during curing, gelation time, easy coloration of the resin, and relatively slow hardness growth during the curing stage.
2) Curing Agent The initiator is methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. Accelerators use cobalt naphthalate.
3) Auxiliary material Including color paste. Pearl powder. Thixotropic agents. The pearl powder is a hexagonal flake crystal of lead carbonate, which can be arranged in parallel during the molding process to show pearl luster. The thixotropic agent is active silica, which is mainly used to prevent mutual penetration of different colors.
2. Production process Polyester buttons are produced by centrifugal cast bar casting method. The plate is first made into a plate or bar. After cutting the case, a button blank is made by cutting and cutting the bar. After heat treatment, the surface is scraped and the bottom is scraped. Milling, drilling, polishing and other processes are used to make buttons. The process of centrifugal casting is as follows: Resin + auxiliary material + stirring + static deaeration 24 hours During the centrifugal casting process, slowly and evenly when feeding into the drum, centrifugal molding When the drum speed is 110-120r/min. The molding time is 24-40 minutes, depending on the length of the test plate, the centrifugal drum is made of stainless steel or chrome plated steel.
Bar casting consists of mixing resin into two groups, one initiator and the other with accelerating agent. After static degassing and defoaming, it is filtered, and then the temperature is adjusted. The two components are mixed evenly, and then the rods are poured into the wax tube. Or in the aluminum tube, the formation of the same pattern from top to bottom, and then after solidification molding, hosting into a bar.
