Yarn silk feel hard reason
Under normal circumstances, the feel of the yarn after mercerizing will not harden. If the hard-to-feel phenomenon occurs, it will inevitably produce blemishes such as reduced luster, yarns, unclear twists, or low capillary effects. The reasons for affecting are as follows:
(1) Bad boiled yarn on the front, insufficient washing after practice
(2) mercerizing process is not reasonable or improper operation
(3) Yarn mercerized after pickling with alkali weight, pickling uneven after pickling
(4) Poor flushing after pickling and excessive water hardness
(5) The moisture content of mercerized yarn before drying is too large

Unisex yarn causes
(1) The mercerized yarn is not scouring uniformly. Imperfections, defatting, poor washing after practice, non-uniform capillary effect, long stacking time after scouring, and mercerizing in the order of boiled pans.
(2) The mercerized yarn has uneven water content, partially over- or over-dried, dewatered, and the yarn blanks are stacked for a long time, and the surface is exposed to sunlight or local air-dried
(3) The yarn on the machine has not been cleaned and flattened, there is a phenomenon such as off frame, end, size twisted, overlapping yarn, etc.
(4) The rollers of the mercerizing machine run unevenly, the rubber roller is uneven or the main shaft is bent. The tension between the two rollers is not uniform, and the length of the machine between the machine and the machine is not the same.
(5) There is too much alkali or desalination before pickling, the acid concentration in the acid tank is too high, and the pickling time is too short.
(6) The concentration of alkali solution is too high, the alkali is not uniform, the alkali temperature is not uniform, and the yarn is piled up for a long time after being machined.
(7) The yarn does not evenly dry and the viscosity is inconsistent. The length of the coil is different
(8) Mercerized yarns have different intervals before dyeing. Mixing in different batches

Insufficient yarn luster
The factors affecting the mercerizing gloss of yarns are as follows:
(1) The effect of scouring on gloss: If scouring is not uniform, cleaning is poor, scouring is poor after cleaning, cotton yarn contains more alkali, resulting in uneven capillary effect, difficulty in permeation of mercerized alkali, and insufficient expansion of fibers, affecting mercerization Luminosity. Therefore, the scouring effect is best around 12cm/30min, which is beneficial to mercerization.
(2) Effect of lye cleanliness on gloss: Newly configured lye generally contains less impurities and mercerized gloss. Mercerized alkali containing impurities (such as soda ash, salt, etc.) must not be too high, otherwise it will impede the penetration of the lye to the fiber, reduce the degree of fiber puffing, affect the mercerizing effect. Mercerized alkali soda content should not exceed 15g/L, salt content does not exceed 20g/L. If mercerized lye is used as caustic, causticizing treatment should be carried out. The impurities and fiber fluff in the lye should be treated to maintain the lye cleanliness.
(3) Effect of lye temperature on gloss: When mercerizing, the temperature of the lye should be strictly controlled. If the lye temperature is too high, the effect will be affected. If the lye temperature is too low, the penetration of the lye to the fiber will be affected, and the mercerization effect will also be deteriorated. . When the lye is at 15°C, the luster is more ideal. However, the actual production, the majority of the use of recycled lye, cooling has certain difficulties, for which it is generally appropriate to grasp the temperature at 30 ~ 35 °C.
(4) The influence of alkali on the gloss of the yarn under the yarn: The mercerizing effect is not only dependent on the time of the impregnation of the lye, the size of the tension and the method of desalting, but also related to the alkali of the yarn under the machine. The amount of alkali in the lower belt is related to the rolling and rinsing time of the roller. If the alkali content of the yarn after the mercerizing exceeds a certain concentration, it will cause the yarn to shrink again and affect the gloss. For this reason, the lower belt has alkali. The amount must be controlled below 2%.
(5) Influence of water quality on gloss: In the entire mercerization process, the quality of water can affect product quality. When mercerized with high alkalinity water, because the water contains calcium, magnesium salts, chlorides, traces of iron, manganese salts, these magazines will adhere to the surface of the fiber, so that the luster fades, feel hard. Therefore, the quality of water and the purification of water are extremely important, and it is more advantageous for qualified factories to use soft water.
(6) Effect of yarn twist on gloss: The size of yarn twist can directly affect gloss. A large yarn has a good gloss after being mercerized, but has an influence on strength and a low mercerty value. A yarn with a small twist has a slightly poor gloss after being mercerized, but has a high strength and a large mercerizing value, so the yarn twist used for mercerizing should be slightly lower.
